Nearly every app in this category claims long-term memory. Nomi is the one where we could verify it: after two weeks, a detail from the first session came back on its own, in the right context, without being prompted.

Nomi follows rather than leads. Replies are shorter than Candy AI's and it starts a new topic far less often on its own initiative. Whether that reads as restraint or as passivity depends on what you want from the app — for a companion you talk with, it is the better behaviour.
Where it drops off
